Ready...Set... Gone! Music Video Premiere
 Las Vegas Country Artist Billy Kay will premier his new music video "Ready...Set... Gone!" at 6pm.
Billy has agreed to donate all royalties from this song from iTunes, Amazon and similar downloads, all streeming proceeds, and any other related sales for a full year to Shade Tree Shelter.
Every day The Shade Tree changes lives. Their mission is to provide safe shelter to homeless and abused women and children in crisis and to offer life-changing services promoting stability, dignity, and self-reliance. Since 1990 The Shade Tree has served homeless and abused women and children, victims of domestic violence, victims of elder abuse, victims of street violence, female veterans, homeless youth and the physically disabled.

Ready...Set... Gone! by Billy Kay
 A woman I know showed up at work wearing sunglasses. I just assumed she stayed out too late the night before. The next day - sunglasses again. Long story short, she was hiding a black eye.
We see these stories on the news and read about them in the papers all the time, but I had never actually known anyone that was a victim of abuse.
She confided in me the details and my first thought was "Leave him! Guys don't hit girls! Case closed!"
But for better or worse, she was in love... and she believed in the "for better or worse" clause. So she was determined to stick it out.
I played the first draft of the song for other women, and they ALL had similar stories! Some just had a baby - where could they go? Some slept in their cars! Some were living under threat.
Ready...Set... Gone! is about how hard it is to make the decision to leave. It must be the hardest decision a woman has to make! Each woman who makes that call to Shade Tree shows more courage they I could ever muster. |
